About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the delivery of energy infrastructure projects under a World Bank-funded program in Papua New Guinea. This role involves supporting technical design, construction supervision, and project implementation to ensure works are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards. International candidates are welcome to apply.

Key Accountabilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Support civil engineering design and implementation of project works
  • Assist in substation and infrastructure development and modernization activities
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, and construction
  • Support procurement processes and preparation of technical documentation
  • Monitor construction progress and contribute to project reporting
  • Assist in supervision of works and contract administration
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and ESHS requirements

About You

Suitable applicants will be/have:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering with professional membership
  • Minimum 20 years of experience, including at least 5 years in similar projects in developing countries
  • Demonstrated experience in power system-related projects, including substation modernization
  • Experience in engineering technical solutions, supervision, and contract management
  • Exposure to climate-related considerations in infrastructure projects is an advantage
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
