About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of energy infrastructure projects under a World Bank-funded program in Papua New Guinea. This role is responsible for leading project implementation, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Key Accountabilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Lead project implementation and oversee overall delivery
  • Coordinate teams across engineering, procurement, and construction
  • Manage procurement processes and contract administration
  • Monitor project progress and prepare reports
  • Ensure compliance with World Bank and ESHS requirements
  • Manage stakeholder coordination and project risks

About You

Suitable applicants will be/have:

  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Power Engineering) with professional membership
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in the energy sector
  • At least 10 years in consulting and/or project management roles within energy sector development
  • At least 10 years of experience in the implementation of multilaterally funded international development projects
  • Broad understanding of World Bank, ADB, or other MDB policies and guidelines is an advantage
  • Proven experience in project implementation, procurement, and contract management
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
