Description

Lead Clinical Excellence Across Rural, Regional & Urban Australia

Established in 2002 by Dr Ross Lamplugh and Dr Hamish Meldrum, Ochre Health is a leading facilitator of healthcare in rural, regional and urban communities around Australia operating a network medical centres and Urgent Care Clinics across five eastern states and territories and a service provider to more than 550 independent doctors.

Ochre Health is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to provide influential clinical leadership across one of Australia’s most diverse primary care networks spanning 70+ medical centres and Urgent Care Clinics, including rural hospital contracts regionally.

This is a rare opportunity for a senior GP leader who understands the realities of frontline care, rural medicine and clinical governance at scale.

As CMO, you will be the clinical voice at executive and board level, helping shape strategy, strengthen clinical governance, support GP attraction and retention, and drive innovation across a network operating from MMM1 through to MMM7 communities.

We are particularly interested in leaders with experience as a Rural Generalist, GP VMO, Clinical Director, Director of Medical Services or CMO, with a strong understanding of rural and regional service delivery.

You will play a key role in:

  • Leading clinical governance across a large, geographically diverse GP network
  • Supporting rural hospital service models, GP VMO engagement and supervision frameworks
  • Strengthening GP onboarding, particularly for doctors new to Australia or new to general practice
  • Improving doctor engagement, retention and ethical clinical performance
  • Providing clinical input into acquisitions, service innovation and future models of care
  • Representing Ochre with doctors, government, colleges, health services and industry bodies

You will bring FRACGP and/or FACRRM, significant GP experience, clinical credibility, commercial judgement, innovation, ethics and measurable impact. Rural Generalist or GP VMO experience is highly desirable, as is experience working across geographically dispersed clinical teams.

The location for this role is flexible, and part time applications will be considered. This role will suit a practical, respected and commercially aware clinical leader who wants to help shape the future of general practice while staying connected to the communities that need it most.
