Position Summary

The Vice President, Regional Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing operations across a multi-state region, ensuring the successful execution of company strategies, operational excellence, financial performance, and customer experience initiatives. This executive leader oversees regional performance through a team of Directors and field leadership personnel while driving growth, profitability, employee engagement, and operational consistency.

The VP, Regional Operations serves as a strategic business partner, translating corporate objectives into actionable regional plans and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead all aspects of regional operations across multiple locations within an assigned area.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that align with company goals and growth initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent execution of operational standards, policies, and procedures across all locations.
  • Drive operational efficiency and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans to address performance gaps.

Financial Performance

  • Own regional P&L performance, including revenue growth, expense management, and profitability.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Analyze business trends and financial data to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Partner with Finance and executive leadership to achieve organizational financial objectives.

People Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of regional and field leaders.
  • Build a high-performing culture focused on accountability, engagement, and results.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, succession planning, leadership development, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions to drive employee growth and retention.

Customer Experience

  • Champion a customer-centric culture that delivers exceptional service and brand consistency.
  • Ensure locations meet or exceed customer satisfaction and service standards.
  • Address escalated customer concerns and implement corrective action when necessary.

Strategic Execution

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Lead regional rollout of new programs, technologies, operational processes, and business initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Merchandising, and other departments to support organizational goals.
  • Identify market opportunities and competitive trends to drive business growth.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
  • Mitigate operational risks and implement appropriate controls and corrective action.
  • Maintain strong operational governance and audit readiness across the region.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in multi-unit operations, retail, distribution, service, or related industries.
  • 5+ years of executive-level leadership experience overseeing large geographic regions.
  • Demonstrated success managing P&L responsibility exceeding $100M+ in annual revenue.
  • Proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and operational analytics.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned region.

Preferred

  • Master's degree (MBA or related field).
  • Experience leading operations within a national retail, service, consumer products, or multi-site organization.
  • Background in large-scale organizational transformation, change management, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Experience with workforce planning, talent development, and succession management.
