About Angel Invest

Angel Invest is Europe’s most active early-stage investor, making 75 investments per year into European technology startups. We invest primarily in Pre-seed and Seed rounds, with a typical check size of €125k. In addition, we have a later-stage fund helping our portfolio companies grow beyond the early stage.

Our focus is on ambitious teams who are building something unique. Once invested, we actively coach founders for at least one year to help them reach product-market fit and prepare them to raise Series A rounds. Around 60% of our portfolio companies go on to raise a Series A.

In 2025, we co-founded the Technology Briefing Center (TBC), a Berlin-based think tank that bridges cutting-edge innovation and strategic decision-making. The AI Research Consultant will be an integral part of the TBC, working at the intersection of research, corporate LP engagement, and venture capital.

Role Overview

We are looking for an AI Research Consultant to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity to break into venture capital at the intersection of AI investing and research. While you’ll have exposure to the full venture capital process, including deal flow, sourcing, and investment decisions, your primary focus will be on building deep AI expertise and translating that into actionable intelligence for our investment team, portfolio companies, and corporate LPs.

As part of the Technology Briefing Center (TBC), you will lead high-impact research projects, produce technology briefings, and help organize executive events. A significant part of the role involves working directly with our corporate LPs. This includes producing regular reports and webinars, delivering tailored research and presentations to senior executives, and co-organizing invite-only events such as executive clubs and AI adoption workshops. You will become a trusted point of contact on AI topics across the organization.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on AI market trends, competitive landscapes, and applied AI use cases across industries.
• Develop investment theses and prepare insightful presentations for our investment team and external stakeholders.
• As a core member of the TBC, produce quarterly reports, webinars, and strategic analyses on AI developments.
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate LP stakeholders at all levels, knowledge-sharing sessions to tailored briefings and workshops for senior executives.
• Participate in deal flow meetings, providing AI-specific insights and data-driven recommendations on investment opportunities.
• Work with the VC team to shape and evolve our AI investment thesis based on the latest research, technological developments, and market signals.
• Support the team on AI deals by providing sector-specific context and research where needed.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Demonstrated expertise in artificial intelligence, whether through academic research, work experience, published writing, or notable projects.
• Fluent in German (C2 level) and English.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to translate complex technical topics into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Independent, self-directed worker who thrives with significant autonomy in a fast-paced environment.
• Genuine curiosity about how AI is reshaping industries, business models, and technology infrastructure, and a hands-on user of the latest AI tools, models, and products in your own daily workflow.
