Vice President of Finance is a senior leadership role that sits at the intersection of operational finance, controllership, and strategic planning. This leader will oversee the finance and accounting organization, drive financial reporting excellence, and serve as a key business partner to the executive team. The role is focused on building scalable processes, developing the function, and partnering with leadership to drive financial performance.
The right candidate brings deep SaaS finance expertise, strong finance and accounting judgment, and the leadership presence to build infrastructure or processes that can support our next phase of growth — whether that's continued customer growth, an acquisition, a debt raise, or a path toward a liquidity event.
Must be US citizen or have a valid work authorization. This role is remote, but the candidate must be located in the mainland of US.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Finance Leadership & Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to department heads across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations
- Lead annual operating planning, forecast updates, long-range planning, and capital allocation decisions
- Lead investor and lender communications between formal reporting cycles — quarterly updates, ad hoc requests, diligence
- Represent the company externally with banks, auditors, tax advisors, insurance brokers, and other finance counterparties
- Set the company's cash management strategy — liquidity forecasting, working capital, banking relationships — and oversee its execution
Accounting & Financial Close
- Manage the Controller, who owns day-to-day execution of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close; set expectations for accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement in close cycle time
- Hold the accounting team accountable for a clean, audit-ready general ledger across all entities, including consolidations and intercompany eliminations
- Review the Controller's technical accounting positions on complex US GAAP matters — ASC 606 (revenue recognition), ASC 340-40 (contract costs), and ASC 842 (leases) — and serve as the final internal decision-maker
- Serve as executive sponsor for the annual audit and interim reviews; support the Controller in managing the auditor relationship and resolving escalations
- Approve accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance frameworks proposed by the Controller; ensure they are appropriate for a scaling SaaS business and are documented and enforced
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Oversee the FP&A function to drive efficient and timely reporting that delivers key insights and forward visibility
- Own the annual budget, rolling forecast, and long-range plan — and ensure tight alignment between actuals, forecast, and operating decisions
- Ensure delivery of weekly flash reports and KPI dashboards to the leadership team, and accurate, timely, board-ready financial statements on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Define and deliver the SaaS-specific management reporting package — ARR bridge, retention metrics, gross margin by product line, departmental P&L, and key unit metrics
- Manage the preparation of investor reporting packages, lender compliance reports, and board materials
Tax, Treasury & Compliance
- Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance — including multi-state nexus and SaaS-specific sales tax — managed through the Controller and external tax advisors
- Oversee the company's insurance portfolio, risk management programs, and corporate entity structure
Team Leadership & Infrastructure
- Directly manage the Controller and FP&A lead; build out the broader finance and accounting organization, develop talent, and align hiring plans to company growth
- Own the strategy for the company's financial systems stack — NetSuite (or comparable ERP), billing/revenue recognition automation, and expense management tools
- Prioritize and sponsor systems improvement and automation initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve data integrity, and accelerate the close
- Establish a culture of accountability, development, and high performance within the finance and accounting organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred but not required
- 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years as VP of Finance, Head of Finance, or in a comparable senior role at a SaaS company
- Direct experience at a SaaS or recurring-revenue technology company — you understand how SaaS businesses work, not just how to account for them
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, with practical exposure to ASC 606 in a multi-element, subscription + services revenue environment
- Familiarity with multi-entity consolidations and purchase accounting
- Proven experience sponsoring an annual audit at the executive level, with a Controller or accounting lead managing day-to-day
- Experience managing a finance or accounting team of at least 3–5 people; track record of developing talent
- Hands-on ownership of FP&A — budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning — in a SaaS or recurring-revenue environment
- Strong working knowledge of NetSuite or a comparable cloud ERP; experience owning or improving financial systems infrastructure
- Experience supporting a debt facility with covenants, SaaS reporting and metrics, and PE/board-level financial reporting
- Excellent communication skills — you can translate complex accounting positions into plain language
