Assistant Instructor

Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Assistant Instructor role based in Salt Lake City, UT. The Assistant Instructor will support lead instructors during sneaker customization workshops, helping participants with design choices, materials, and basic techniques. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing the classroom space, organizing tools and supplies, setting up and cleaning up workstations, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. The role will assist in demonstrating step-by-step processes, answer participant questions, and offer creative guidance to individuals of varying ages and skill levels. The Assistant Instructor will also help manage class check-in, maintain inventory of materials, and occasionally support in-store customer service and event coordination.

Qualifications

• Ability to support hands-on art or craft instruction, including basic design principles, color coordination, and step-by-step demonstration of creative techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work patiently with youth and adults in group and one-on-one settings.
• Customer service experience
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, on-your-feet environment, including evenings and weekends as needed for classes and events.
• Prior experience in teaching assistance, youth programs, arts education, or similar roles is preferred but not required.
• Interest in sneakers, fashion, streetwear, or visual arts, and a willingness to learn sneaker customization techniques.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to collaborate effectively with a small, creative team.
