Network Engineer

Washington, DC Metro Area Preferred | Hybrid | 20-30% Travel

Our client, a growing engineering-led consulting organization, is seeking a Network Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure projects.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on the design, implementation, and support of complex network environments. You'll work directly with clients, lead technical delivery efforts, and help modernize critical infrastructure across large-scale enterprise and campus networks.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, deploy, and support enterprise switching and routing environments
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst infrastructure across campus and distributed networks
  • Implement OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and hybrid WAN solutions
  • Deploy and support Network Access Control (NAC) solutions including Cisco ISE and Aruba ClearPass
  • Integrate wired and wireless environments through segmentation, policy, and authentication frameworks
  • Utilize Cisco Catalyst Center and Meraki for network management, visibility, and operations
  • Perform advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting across production environments
  • Create design documentation, implementation plans, and as-built network diagrams
  • Work directly with client stakeholders throughout project delivery

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience
  • Strong Cisco routing and switching background
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst platforms and IOS-XE
  • Experience with OSPF and BGP in production environments
  • Experience deploying or supporting Cisco ISE and/or Aruba ClearPass
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
  • Experience producing technical documentation and implementation plans
  • Active CCNA or CCNP Enterprise certification

Preferred Experience

  • Cisco Meraki
  • CCNP Enterprise or CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure
  • CCNP Security
  • Aruba, Ruckus, or multi-vendor networking environments
  • Experience within a consulting, VAR, systems integrator, or professional services organization
  • Exposure to Federal, Higher Education, or Public Sector environments
