Hutto

Description

Roboptic is a fast-growing technology company specializing in robotics, intelligent optical systems, precision manufacturing, and advanced automation. We're building a world-class manufacturing facility in Hutto, Texas — and we're looking for a hands-on technology leader to build and own our complete IT and factory digital infrastructure from the ground up.

Who We're Looking For

This is not a traditional IT manager role. We're looking for a factory technology leader who bridges infrastructure and manufacturing operations — someone who can design a secure and scalable network, manage IT systems, support production, understand factory workflows, and lead system integration across ERP, MES, WMS, QMS, and shop floor equipment.

The ideal candidate brings strong infrastructure and networking expertise, hands-on factory IT experience, and the drive to build technology systems for a new manufacturing facility from scratch.

About the Role

The MIS / Factory IT Senior Manager will serve as the senior technology leader for our Hutto facility, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the full IT and manufacturing systems infrastructure across production, quality, warehouse, logistics, engineering, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage facility IT infrastructure: networks, servers, storage, workstations, industrial PCs, wireless, firewalls, backup, and endpoint security
  • Implement and integrate manufacturing systems: MES, ERP, WMS, QMS, SPC, calibration, and production reporting tools
  • Support IT/OT convergence across PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, production equipment, and automated lines
  • Ensure secure, accurate data flow between enterprise and shop floor systems; support real-time production visibility and traceability
  • Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, access controls, and compliance procedures aligned with ISO 9001
  • Build and lead the facility IT/MIS team; manage vendors, system integrators, and software partners
  • Define the technology roadmap and lead digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives
  • Manage IT/MIS Capex and Opex budgets

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years in IT, MIS, infrastructure, or factory technology environment
  • 5+ years in IT operations or factory IT leader
  • Hands-on expertise in network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, wireless)
  • Experience with manufacturing systems (MES, ERP, WMS, QMS, SPC) and factory workflows
  • Solid understanding of IT/OT integration and OT cybersecurity
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced greenfield environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in robotics, optical systems, precision electronics, semiconductor, or high-tech manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms
  • Background in implementing MES, WMS, QMS, barcode/RFID, or traceability systems
  • Greenfield or new factory build experience
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0, IIoT, and smart manufacturing
  • Experience with Asia-based manufacturing organizations (Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean)
  • PMP, ITIL, CISSP, CCNA/CCNP, or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Microsoft)
  • Bilingual English/Mandarin or English/Spanish a plus

Why Roboptic?

  • Build the complete technology foundation of a new high-tech facility
  • Work directly with senior leadership during factory startup and scale-up
  • Lead meaningful Industry 4.0 and digital transformation initiatives
  • Join a well-funded, high-growth company at the intersection of robotics, optics, and automation
