We are now expending our business and we seek suitable candidates to fill the following position.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Research, develop, and formulate new food and nutraceutical products based on market trends, customer requirements, and company strategy. Improve existing formulations to enhance product quality, stability, taste, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Raw Material Evaluation: Evaluate and approve new raw materials, conduct technical assessments including functionality, compatibility, sensory evaluation and applications.
  • Prototype Preparation: Prepare laboratory-scale prototypes for internal evaluation and customer presentation. Conduct sensory, physical, and basic stability assessments on prototypes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, QA/QC, Regulatory Affairs and Production Teams to support product development, troubleshooting, and commercialization activities.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to production and customers, including troubleshooting product quality issues and implementing corrective formulation adjustments.
  • Innovation & Market Research: Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to support innovation pipeline and product pipeline development.
  • Stability & Shelf-Life Study: Work closely with QA/QC to design and monitor stability studies to determine product shelf-life under various storage conditions. Analyze results and recommend formulation improvements if necessary.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks: To perform any additional tasks assigned by superior from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: At least Diploma/ Degree in Food Science/ Food Technology/ Nutrition or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 year(s) of relevant experience in R&D within the food, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical or ingredient industry. Experience in food manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of food and nutraceutical formulation principles, ingredient functionality, processing techniques, and product stability. Experience or exposure in prototype development, formulation optimization, sensory evaluation, and scale-up processes from lab to production is preferred.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skill: Ability to conduct experiments, analyze results, troubleshoot formulation issues, and propose practical solutions for product improvement.
  • Multi-tasking Ability: Able to plan, organize and handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Team Player: Willing to work as a team and able to work under tight pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Software Skills: Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Office Application.
  • Language: Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese, and English.
