Job Description

Responsible for planning, designing, and launching efficient financial systems (mainly Oracle ERP) to support core organizational functions, business processes, and enhancements in alignment with business dynamics.

Responsibilities

System Planning, Design, and Launch

  • Take a lead role in collaboration with CIT in planning, designing, and launching efficient financial systems (mainly Oracle ERP) to support core organizational functions, business processes, and enhancements in alignment with business dynamics.

Project Documentation and Implementation

  • Prepare project proposals, Business Requirement Documents (BRD), and Requests for Proposal (RFP) necessary for systems implementation, enhancements and reporting requirements.

Partner Selection and Resource Mobilization

  • Collaborate with CIT and Contracts departments to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and select suitable implementation partners.
  • Ensure effective resource identification and mobilization for the implementation and enhancement of financial systems (Oracle ERP or other business applications).

Stakeholder Coordination and Requirement Analysis

  • Plan and coordinate with stakeholders, CIT, and external consultants to collect and submit user requirements.
  • Conduct business requirement analysis and assess feasibility and cost-benefit of implementations/enhancements.

System Controls and Compliance

  • Review controls in new systems or developments to ensure compliance with corporate policy objectives, statutory requirements, and generally accepted accounting practices / IFRS.
  • Maintain adequate segregation of duties in user access, implement preset approval processes, and periodically review access rights.

System Analysis and Improvement

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, internal control, and compliance with accounting principles, conventions, IFRS, and Etisalat accounting policies during system or procedural changes.
  • Stay updated on developments in financial systems, compare them with existing systems, and recommend potential new implementations.

User Training and Support

  • Arrange training and post-implementation support for users, ensuring end-users are properly trained and supported in system usage and reporting.

Process Automation and Integration

  • Identify opportunities to automate business processes to enhance synergy and operational efficiency.
  • Provide expertise in integrating other systems with financial systems to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to accounting standards.

Leadership and Guidance

  • Offer professional guidance and support to subordinates in executing assigned functions.
  • Collaborate with systems managers and domain experts to plan and design end-to-end solutions and automation with minimal manual intervention.

Issue Resolution and Monitoring

  • Work with CIT to resolve user issues within financial modules and address integration and upgrade-related issues from other applications.
  • Monitor critical activities such as automated bank payment systems, online approval workflows, and online portals used by external parties.

Financial Closure and Reconciliation

  • Assist the Finance department in the closure of Oracle modules at month/year end and in the reconciliation of sub-ledgers and the General Ledger.

Supporting Internal / External Audit Requirements

  • Support Finance users to respond to audit queries including functional processes, internal controls, provision of data and other audit related requirements.
  • Implementation of audit observations within the committed timeframe.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience with at least 6+ years’ experience in Accounting, Oracle Financials implementations, systems maintenance, support and training.
  • Proven experience in ERP and billing systems management, optimization, and automation.
  • He has excellent knowledge of financial accounting and financial procedures with practical exposure to business process re-engineering.
  • Strong understanding of system integrations and process mapping.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
