NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is a gold explorer, developer, and producer based in North Queensland. The Pajingo Mine, located ~50km from Charters Towers, is a long-life underground operation with ~250 employees. About the Opportunity
We’re seeking both Mine Engineers and Senior Mine Engineers to support our underground gold operations. You’ll work closely with production and technical teams to develop and implement drill and blast plans, monitor daily progress, and contribute to safe, efficient mine planning.
Key responsibilities (dependent on level of experience):
- Prepare and implement underground drill & blast designs
- Develop and manage stope notes, charge plans, and backfill schedules
- Provide engineering support to production and operations teams
- Perform daily and weekly planning for production activities
- Monitor and respond to operational variances and risks
- Assist with budgeting, remnant mining strategies, and process improvements
- Mentor junior engineers and lead engineering initiatives (Senior role)
What You’ll Bring
Essential (all roles):
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- Underground hard rock (drill & blast) experience
- Proficiency with Deswik and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and planning skills
- Understanding of statutory and WHS obligations
Senior Engineer (additional expectations):
- 5–7+ years' underground mining experience
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring capability
- Risk management and budget planning experience
- Ability to contribute to broader mine planning strategy
