About the Role

We are seeking an intuitive and collaborative Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis & Treasury function in our Brisbane head office. The Financial Analyst is responsible for delivering comprehensive financial modelling and analysis to support strategic decision-making and business growth. This role involves developing and maintaining operational project models, preparing budgets and rolling forecasts, and conducting business valuations and performance benchmarking. In addition, the Financial Analyst will assist with providing critical financial insights, managing cash flow and liquidity forecasting and supporting the treasury function to optimise funding and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and refine financial models, including Operational Project Models (OPMs) for existing and newly acquired assets
  • Prepare annual budgets and rolling re-forecasts with supporting qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support internal stakeholders and decision-making
  • Coordinate market data inputs and integrate them into financial models
  • Conduct business valuations and asset benchmarking activities
  • Scope, design, build and test financial models to support financing and investment decisions
  • Ensure all financial modelling is accurate, logical, fit-for-purpose, and delivered within agreed timeframes
  • Perform group and project-level cash flow and liquidity forecasting
  • Optimise funding, investment decisions and cash impacts from market movements
  • Manage project finance documentation and ensure compliance with obligations
  • Provide updates on cash flow forecasts and variances to management
  • Assist cross-functional teams with financial analysis related to asset sales, contracts, insurance, and performance reviews

Essential

  • Ideally between 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role capacity
  • Formal qualifications in Finance / Commerce or Economics
  • CA / CFA / MBA / CPA qualified or studying towards qualification will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in an analytical role in a professional services or commercial environment
  • Ability to act with independence and integrity
  • Demonstrated team player who doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves to support the team when needed
  • High numerical and conceptual reasoning skills with a proven ability to problem-solve and work through complex situations logically
  • Ability to create trust and credibility through honest and clear communication
  • Ability to conceptualise alternative commercial directions for the business and critically evaluate the options
