Data Engineer (AWS)

What will you do?

In this role, you will be at the forefront of our data platform and streaming initiatives on AWS, playing a critical part in designing, implementing and operating modern data architectures.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Design, build and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines on AWS using services such as AWS Glue, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon SQS, DynamoDB, Athena.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT jobs on AWS Glue (PySpark / Python) to process large-scale structured and semi-structured data.
• Implement real-time and near real-time data ingestion and streaming solutions using Amazon Kinesis and message-based architectures with Amazon SQS.
• Design and manage data models and schemas (data lake / data warehouse / NoSQL) that support analytics, reporting and operational use cases.
• Implement monitoring, logging and auditing for data pipelines using Amazon CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail, ensuring reliability and observability.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements and translate them into robust, scalable solutions.
• Ensure data quality and reliability through validation, automated tests, monitoring and documentation.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, actively contributing to planning, estimation, reviews and continuous improvement.

What are we looking for?

• 3+ years of relevant experience working with data warehousing, data lakes and/or large data sets.
• Hands-on experience in implementing DWH & Data Integration projects on AWS.
• Strong programming skills in Python (preferably with PySpark experience).
• Solid experience with AWS Glue (ETL/ELT jobs, crawlers, catalog, PySpark/Scala or Python).
• Experience building event-driven and streaming data solutions using Amazon Kinesis and Amazon SQS.
• Experience working with DynamoDB and Athena (data modeling, performance optimization, cost-efficient querying).
• Good understanding of AWS security, IAM, networking and best practices for data platforms.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows (branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews).
• Experience implementing monitoring and logging with CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Able to think analytically, using a systematic and logical approach to analyze data, problems, and situations.
• Able to drive day-to-day tasks in alignment with the project plan and collaborate with clients to accomplish milestones as per plan.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
