Litigation Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant
Bercow Radell Fernandez Larkin & Tapanes is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background and be comfortable managing the day-to-day demands of a busy litigation practice. While the primary focus of this position is litigation support, the candidate will also assist attorneys with land use, zoning, environmental, and local government matters as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys engaged in litigation matters.
- Prepare, revise, and format pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Coordinate and manage litigation deadlines, court filings, and attorney calendars.
- Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings.
- Maintain case files and assist with case management.
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors.
- Assist with document preparation and administrative support for land use and zoning matters when necessary.
- Coordinate and manage project workflows for zoning and land use matters, including permitting, agency submissions, and tracking deadlines to support the attorney’s practice and project management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation legal secretary or legal assistant experience.
- Thorough knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and electronic filing systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and calendar management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with state and federal court filings preferred.
- Experience in land use, zoning, environmental, or local government law is a plus, but not required.
