Software and Controls Engineer

Job Description

Define and develop system requirements, architecture, and test concepts for controls and functions

Develop control algorithms, schematics, including initial calibration datasets

Perform system integration, testing, and validation, including rapid prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop testing

Develop embedded software for embedded control, including requirement engineering and software architecture

Integrate software into electronic hardware control units and provide commissioning and support at customer locations

Develop innovative algorithms for future mobility, create and update software applications, and optimize development processes and tools

Travel the world for environmental tests in different and exciting locations (e.g. USA, Austria, Finland, Spain)

Work with AVL Global experts to keep up with latest technologies and industry trends

Profile Description

BSc or equivalent engineering degree in electric/electronic, controls, mechatronics, automotive, mechanical engineering or related technical field is preferred

Previous professional and industry experience in model or code based software development (like Matlab Simulink, C++, C#, Python)

Professional experience and knowledge of development processes (e.g., PTE Controls and Systems Engineering Process)

Knowledge of standards such as ASPICE and ISO26262, and domain-specific knowledge (e.g., Powertrain, Vehicle)

Fluent speaking and excellent writing skills in English (German, French or Italian would be a plus)
