JOB DESCRIPTION/OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for overseeing all plant activities in order to meet the plant business objectives that should be aligned with company objectives. The Plant Manager is accountable for all aspects of plant performance, and will ensure that objectives are attained in a safe, sustainable and cost-effective manner consistent with our internal and external quality and environmental requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops Strategic and tactical plans for the plant to achieve the objectives that are established by company leadership and allocates necessary resources to run the facility and manage the business in accordance to regulatory procedures and company standards to meet Safety, Quality, and Environmental System requirements and customer needs.

Responsible for driving the performance of the direct reports and the whole plant team by clarifying the goals and expectations, setting up the standards, leading by example, understanding of capabilities and guiding the development, empowerment, and accountability for the associates.

Leads the budget preparation for the plant in coordination with the President.

Manage daily operations at the plant in accordance to priorities established: Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and in alignment with the Strategic Principles, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Technology, Global Focus, Sustainability and Profitability; and ensuring staff compliance with the Company Policies.

Review and coordinate capacity, materials planning, and resources in general according to the budget and actual customer requirements and in accordance with the long term 5-year plan for the plant.

Evaluates, identifies, understands and reports capex/investment needs (as part of the budget process but also outside in case of non-budgeted events) to ensure business objectives are met.

Review and maintain the Business/Strategic Plan issued by Corporate.

Supports Program Management needs and activities to ensure successful program launches

Leads the Cost Control/Reduction initiatives.

Participates in the definition and leads the execution of the Lean Implementation Plan (including 5S, waste elimination, PM and maintenance plans).

Participates in the definition and promotes the Continuous Improvement Program and initiatives in the plant.

Develops direct reports and others in the plant.

Formulates production planning objectives and monitors progress toward meeting objectives.

Interfaces with management to administer production planning and advance planning process.

In addition to the above responsibilities; this position is responsible for other tasks as assigned.

Supports the EHS Steering Committee.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION

Engineering Degree (Mechanics, Electrics or Industrial)

Bachelor Degree in Applied Science in Business Administrations Management, Or Equivalent

Demonstrated work experience in Plant Management/Operations/Production Planning supervision function.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum five ( 5 ) years-experience in Plant Operations function is preferred.
