Assessment Coordinator

RICS

Birmingham

Description

RICS is a global professional membership body that sets standards for the built environment, including land, property, construction and infrastructure.

We support people to become qualified professionals through structured training and assessment. This includes routes such as Associate (AssocRICS) and Chartered (MRICS) membership, where candidates demonstrate their skills, experience and professional judgement through a formal assessment process.

Our teams play an important role in supporting this journey, working with candidates, assessors and panels to deliver a consistent and well-run assessment experience.

Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities

As an Assessment Coordinator, you will play a key role in making sure assessments run smoothly, fairly and on time.

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will coordinate assessment panels, manage schedules and act as a main point of contact for candidates and assessors. You’ll be keeping things on track, resolving issues as they arise and making sure everyone involved has what they need.

You will work closely with volunteer assessors, training providers and internal colleagues to match candidates to the right panels and support the delivery of assessments from start to finish. It’s a role where you can build strong coordination and stakeholder management skills, while taking real ownership of your work.

As an Assessment Coordinator, you will:

• Coordinate assessment panels and schedules, ensuring candidates are booked in line with timelines and policies.

• Work with assessors and auditors to ensure they have the information needed to deliver assessments.

• Process assessment results accurately and on time.

• Act as a key point of contact for candidates, assessors and training providers, responding to queries and providing guidance.

• Monitor data to identify and resolve issues, such as availability gaps or scheduling conflicts.

• Manage changes to assessments, including withdrawals, deferrals and re-bookings.

• Support the smooth running of assessments, identifying and escalating any risks or issues.

This role operates on a hybrid basis, with staff expected to work approximately 60% of their time in the office and 40% from home.

About You

You are organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities. You communicate clearly and confidently, and can adapt when plans change or challenges arise.

You take ownership of your work, stay focused on deadlines and approach problems in a calm, practical way. You enjoy keeping things moving and making sure nothing gets missed.

You will bring:

• Experience in a coordination, administrative or customer-focused role.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Confidence working with a range of stakeholders, including external contacts.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
