About the role

Revenue NSW (RNSW) is seeking a forward thinking operational leader to oversee the end to‑ end delivery of our Fines & Debt Operations - a fast paced, high‑volume, technology enabled‑ environment responsible for 3.5 million fines and over 500,000 state debt matters each year.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a large and diverse workforce, modernise core systems and processes, and strengthen a highly visible public service in NSW. Your leadership will directly influence community trust, fairness, equity, and the customer experience for people across the state.

As Director Fines & Debt Operations you will:

  • Lead a large workforce of 2 direct and approximately 200 indirect reports across multiple regional and metropolitan sites in data, adjudication, payments, compliance and enforcement functions.
  • Drive the modernisation of the state debt system reshaping how RNSW manages fines and debt.
  • Identify performance trends, operational risks, and improvement opportunities — ensuring processes, systems and delivery models are contemporary, reliable and transparent.
  • Drive technology uplift, automation and digital enhancements that increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve customer outcomes.
  • Be responsible for ensuring financial governance, effective resource allocation and value for money outcomes across all service streams.
  • Navigate a complex operating environment with significant public, ministerial and media visibility where accuracy, fairness and operational excellence are essential.
  • Collaborate closely with other functions within RNSW ensuring seamless integration across new strategies and technology platforms.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders such as NSW Police, Transport for NSW, Road Safety, SIRA, iCare, Councils and Local Government authorities.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder leadership, including capability to represent RNSW in national industry forums.
  • Strong commercial acumen and comfort with complex financial environments.
