About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced modeling professional to join our established energy advisory practice specializing in Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This is an opportunity to play a key role within a highly respected consulting firm providing technical advisory and independent engineering services to developers, lenders, investors, utilities, and asset owners across the renewable energy sector.

The successful candidate will lead technical evaluations, energy modeling, and advisory engagements for utility-scale and distributed-generation solar PV and BESS projects. Responsibilities include resource and energy yield assessments, technical due diligence, performance testing, project management, and client advisory support. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to process improvement, team development, and support the continued growth of the practice. Experience with project design, development, and the interplay between technical modeling considerations and commercial requirements is highly valued.

This is a full-time remote role, although preference may be given to Denver, CO-based applicants. Limited travel may be required.

This role is ideal for a motivated professional seeking meaningful technical leadership, direct client engagement, and long-term career growth in a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience using PVsyst and other industry-standard resource forecasting and energy yield assessment tools, including advanced battery energy storage modeling techniques; wind generation modeling experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis of solar and battery performance data, resource and net energy production forecasting, uncertainty/variability analysis, loss assumptions, site conditions, and technology suitability evaluations.
  • Strong experience leading technical due diligence engagements and supporting renewable energy project financing, development, construction, and operational assessments.
  • Experience overseeing data collection programs and pre- and post-construction measurement campaigns, including MCP analyses, commissioning activities, and power performance testing.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy project contracts and commercial structures, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), EPC agreements, equipment supply agreements, interconnection agreements, and O&M contracts.
  • Solar power project design and National Electrical Code (NEC) experience.
  • Proven project management and client management experience, including the ability to manage competing priorities and schedules.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, computer, and oral/written communication skills, including report writing and presentation experience.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, professional presence, and commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment under demanding timelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, atmospheric science, or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred.
