Role Description This full-time, on-site Outside Sales Representative role is based in the Greater Chicago Area. The Outside Sales Representative will meet with individuals and families in person and by phone to explain Dignity Memorial services, present options, and guide them through pre-planning or at-need arrangements. Responsibilities include generating new business through community outreach, referrals, events, and prospecting activities, as well as conducting needs assessments and preparing tailored proposals. The role involves delivering clear, compassionate sales presentations, following up on leads, maintaining accurate records in the CRM, and meeting or exceeding sales targets while adhering to all ethical, legal, and company standards. The Outside Sales Representative will collaborate with location managers and service teams to ensure a seamless experience for every family.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated sales abilities, including Sales Presentations and New Business Development, with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Strong Relationship Building and Customer Service skills, with the ability to earn trust and support families with empathy and professionalism.
  • Excellent Communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal explanations, and confident in-person and phone interactions.
  • Proven ability to manage a personal sales pipeline, prioritize leads, and work independently in the field.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and emotional maturity when working with individuals and families in sensitive situations.
  • Comfort with basic technology, such as CRM systems, email, and presentation tools.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within the Greater Chicago Area.
  • Previous experience in outside sales, insurance, financial services, or related fields is preferred; experience in funeral, cemetery, or healthcare services is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in business, communications, or a related field is an asset.
