Description

The Manager, Payroll Support and Services within the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business leads a range of service delivery teams delivering a quality payroll service that best contribute to Queensland Shared Services KPI's.

Queensland Shared Services, Service Delivery is committed to delivering high quality customer service and is involved in a range of significant business, system and organisational review projects in support of organisational objectives. Service Delivery also strive to ensure the delivery of improved and cost-effective services to our diverse customer base. This position will also provide advice on the performance and operations of the function, ensuring that it aligns with QSS operational plan and strategic direction.

At the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB), we are improving customer services to Queenslanders, supporting small and family business owners, and providing better government services and support.

As the Manager - Payroll Support and Services, you will:

  • Provide strategic direction and lead multiple service delivery teams delivering a quality payroll service that best contribute to QSS's KPIs and work collegiately with the business and other stakeholders to ensure optimum service delivery
  • Provide authoritative specialist/professional advice to clients and customers on complex service delivery matters and issues relating to the current and future direction of payroll and establishment management practices
  • Provide strategic and tactical advice to the Director on matters relating to the business stream functions
  • Undertake the responsibility of Process Owner ensuring standard, effective and efficient transactional processes are maintained, including the maintenance of a strong control environment
  • Support organisational change for the establishment and management of a service delivery group providing shared corporate services to Queensland Government agencies and represent QSS in high level negotiations and discussions at intra and inter departmental committees, bodies, forums and working groups
  • Liaise and collaborate across QSS on the implementation of improved end-to-end processes and provide feedback to the Director on existing and new business process reform initiatives
  • Build and maintain the business focus, service culture and capability of staff to improve business performance while meeting current and future service delivery demands in a commercial environment by coaching, mentoring, developing and valuing our staff through the implementation of professional development strategies
  • Promote an accountable, fair and safe work environment through the implementation of quality human resource management practices with consideration of workplace health and safety, employment equity, anti-discrimination, human rights, diversity, inclusion and performance management
