How will you contribute?

This internship is framed within the development of the first Urban Soil Living Lab in Luxembourg, as part of the URSOILL project. The trainee will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and insight into soil assessment and sustainable soil management practices in an urban context.

The internship is designed as a learning and capacity-building experience, where the trainee will be exposed to field and analytical approaches related to soil health, as well as to innovative solutions addressing urban soil challenges such as sealing and contamination. The trainee will work alongside researchers and project partners, contributing to selected activities while developing practical and analytical skills.

You will be mainly involved in:

Supporting soil sampling campaigns and the pre-processing of soil samples under supervision

Observing and contributing to the interpretation of physico-chemical and biological soil analysis results

Assisting in the exploratory assessment of potential soil health solutions, including desealing approaches (e.g. permeable materials) and nature-based depollution strategies

Contributing to literature reviews to better understand existing solutions, with a focus on their relevance to national and site-specific contexts

Education

Master’s student in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
