The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University’s Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing and High-Performance Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace and Audio-Visual Technologies, and other related IT functions to support the University’s operations.
Technical Officer in Computing Services Centre [Ref.: R/354/25]
Duties
- Assist in drafting documents related to procurement and technical processes;
- Assist in the administration, installation and support of software applications;
- Assist in the administration and support of IT systems such as Deep Freeze Server, IoT Platform, CCTV and SmartCard System(s), Windows, Windows Server, Apple macOS and Linux operating systems;
- Coordinate various minor IT and AV Projects;
- Perform daily operational activities, including but not limited to incidents handling, service requests and implementing system changes in according with CSC ITIL standards and procedures;
- Participate in technology exploration and evaluation; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- An Associate Degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines, with at least 2 years of post-qualification working experience;
- Be proactive, eager to learn and well-organised, with a strong sense of urgency and responsibility;
- Hands-on experience in technical support and system maintenance;
- Good word processing skills; and
- Proficiency in written English and a good verbal command of Chinese are required.
- Familiarity with various teaching and learning IT or AV hardware and software; and
- Knowledge of programming languages such as VBScript, PHP, .NET and BAT scripting would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service
