About the Job

The European Parliament‘s Directorate-General for Finance is seeking expressions of interest from candidates with a view to filling a SAP Business (Functional) Analyst post, based in Luxembourg, to work as a Contract Agent FG IV within its FMS Competence Centre Unit.

The FMS Competence Centre Unit is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Parliament’s Financial Management System (FMS), as well as other SAP S/4HANA tools related to the financial entitlements of Members of the European Parliament. The Unit also provides end-user support and training. Recently, the Unit has expanded its mission to become the SAP innovation hub of the European Parliament. This includes extending its current portfolio of SAP applications, preparing the migration of the existing on-premises infrastructure to the cloud (SAP RISE) by 2027, and defining a roadmap for the implementation of a series of AI initiatives

Job Description

In this role, you will contribute to the analysis of business requirements and the identification of appropriate SAP technical solutions, in collaboration with external consultants across the various business areas covered by the Unit’s SAP projects. You will monitor the development of proposed solutions, carry out testing activities, and ensure effective communication and support for end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements across various functional domains.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and external SAP consultants to identify and define appropriate SAP S/4HANA solutions.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and support solution design activities.
  • Monitor and coordinate the development and implementation of SAP solutions.
  • Plan, execute, and support testing activities, including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Ensure the quality and alignment of delivered solutions with business requirements.
  • Support change management activities, including user communication, training, and adoption initiatives.
  • Provide functional support and guidance to end users.
  • Contribute to SAP innovation projects, cloud transformation initiatives (SAP RISE), and AI-related roadmap activities.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver business value and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Educational background: minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in IT/telecom or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst in IT projects.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex business challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions.

Experience with one or more of the following will be considered a strong asset:

  • SAP S/4HANA Materials Management (MM)
  • SAP S/4HANA Funds Management (FM)
  • SAP implementation, migration, or transformation projects
  • Cloud migration initiatives, particularly SAP RISE
  • Digital transformation and AI-related projects within SAP environments
