Head of Supply Chain Transformation, Planning & AI

A leading retail and FMCG organisation is seeking a Head of Supply Chain Transformation, Planning & AI to lead the next phase of its supply chain evolution.
This is a strategic leadership role focused on transforming a complex, high-volume supply chain through the deployment of advanced planning capabilities, automation, analytics, and digital technologies.
You will play a key role in shaping the future distribution network, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the supply chain can support continued growth across stores, e-commerce, and fulfilment operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and deliver the supply chain transformation roadmap across planning, logistics, warehousing, and technology.
- Lead distribution centre infrastructure and automation programmes, working with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Optimise network design, inventory flows, site capacity, and labour strategies using advanced modelling tools.
- Drive the adoption of advanced forecasting, replenishment, planning, and AI-enabled analytics capabilities.
- Develop robust business cases for major investments in systems, automation, and operational infrastructure.
- Partner with Technology, Commercial, Finance, Retail Operations, and Supply Chain teams to deliver end-to-end improvements.
- Build and lead a high-performing transformation and analytics function.
We're looking for someone with:
- A proven track record delivering large-scale supply chain transformation within retail, FMCG, grocery, consumer goods, or multi-channel distribution environments.
- Strong experience with WMS platforms, forecasting and replenishment tools, network design, and supply chain planning systems.
- Expertise in warehouse operations, distribution networks, and inventory optimisation.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including the ability to develop multimillion-pound CapEx business cases.
- The credibility to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional change programmes.
