At Eni, we are looking for a Process Safety Specialist to join Eni Côte d'Ivoire in Abidjan. You will be responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Process Safety Management (PSM) within Eni Côte d’Ivoire’s operations and projects. The role ensures compliance with Eni HSE standards, international regulations, and industry best practice, aiming to prevent major accident hazards and maintain asset integrity throughout operational activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monthly reviews (Employee / Mentor / Manager).
  • Support the implementation of Process Safety Management requirements across operational and project activities.
  • Promote process safety culture and awareness within Eni and contractor organisations.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, Bow-Tie, SIL, and other risk assessment studies.
  • Support the identification and mitigation of Major Accident Hazards (MAH).
  • Follow up on the implementation of recommendations resulting from risk assessments and audits.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Safety Critical Elements (SCEs).
  • Support operations during commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and modification activities.
  • Participate in Management of Change (MoC) processes.
  • Monitor process safety barriers and performance indicators.
  • Assist in incident investigations related to process safety events and near misses.
  • Support the preparation and implementation of process safety audits and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, Eni requirements, and international standards.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness activities related to major accident scenarios.
  • Monitor and report process safety KPIs.
  • Support contractor process safety performance monitoring.

Skills And Experience Required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in Process Safety, Operations, HSE, or Engineering within the oil & gas industry.
  • Experience in upstream/offshore operations is an advantage.
  • Experience with major hazard facilities and risk assessment methodologies is preferred.

Required Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management principles.
  • Familiarity with HAZOP, HAZID, SIL assessment, Bow-Tie analysis, MoC processes, and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of international standards and regulations related to process safety
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to operational sites, including offshore locations where required.
