Job Purpose
The Senior Contract Manager oversees the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring strict compliance, mitigating commercial risks, and managing claims or variations to protect the company's financial and legal interests across all construction projects. [1]
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration & Negotiation
- Draft and review prime contracts, subcontracts, and joint venture agreements.
- Negotiate terms with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and legal representatives.
- Support tender reviews during pre-award phases to identify risky clauses.
- Ensure alignment with corporate policies, local UAE laws, and statutory regulations. [1, 2]
Claims & Variation Management
- Manage variations, change orders, and instructions impacting project scope.
- Assess extensions of time (EOT) and formulate detailed prolongation claims.
- Draft formal notices and contractual correspondence to secure company entitlements.
- Defend against counterclaims submitted by subcontractors or client bodies. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Risk Mitigation & Compliance
- Identify commercial risks early and develop robust mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project milestones to ensure full compliance with contractual obligations.
- Maintain rigorous records of all contract documentation, logs, and correspondence.

Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Law.
- 8 to 15 years of dedicated contract management experience in construction.
- GCC region experience is highly preferred, with a focus on the UAE market. [1]
