About the Role

Marine Corps Judge Advocates begin their certification pipeline with Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Quantico, Virginia. Once they receive their commission as an officer and complete rigorous basic training, Judge Advocates complete their certification process with education on the Uniform Code of Military Justice at Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on military operations
  • Litigate criminal offenses
  • Handle government contracting
  • Advocate for other servicemembers

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school
  • Currently certified good standing
