Geoff McDonald & Associates is a well-established and growing personal injury and workers’ compensation law firm dedicated to helping injured clients through some of the most challenging times in their lives. We are seeking an experienced, driven, compassionate, and highly organized Litigation Paralegal to join our Richmond office.
This position is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, and is passionate about providing outstanding client service.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys through all stages of litigation in both State and Federal courts throughout Virginia
- Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence
- Coordinate and manage case deadlines, court filings, and scheduling
- Organize and maintain litigation files and medical records
- Review and summarize medical records and draft discovery responses
- Communicate with clients, courts, experts, and opposing counsel
- Assist with trial preparation, mediation preparation, and settlement documentation
- Review and manage incoming records, bills, and evidence
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm setting
- Personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and court deadlines
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to proactively work independently while also contributing to a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software (SmartAdvocate)
- Technologically saavy to include use of Ai
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of professionalism and client care
