The Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC) is the Navy's premier facility for engineering and expeditionary warfare expertise. We deliver specialized technical capabilities to ensure mission success.

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to specialize in the cybersecurity of Operational Technology (OT) and Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS). In this role, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding the nation's critical infrastructure. You will work in our state-of-the-art Control Systems Test Bed (CSTB), conducting hands-on testing and analysis to identify and mitigate cyber threats.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead and execute engineering projects focused on the cybersecurity of Operational Technology (OT) and Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS).

Design, build, and maintain vendor-specific test benches in our Control Systems Test Bed (CSTB), creating high-fidelity lab environments that replicate real-world operational systems for rigorous cybersecurity assessments.

Plan, coordinate, and conduct hands-on cybersecurity testing of electrical and control system devices in our CSTB.

Analyze test data to identify vulnerabilities, draw conclusions, and develop innovative security hardening solutions and best-practice guides.

Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance to field activities and collaborating with system vendors to enhance product security.

Interface directly with program sponsors and stakeholders, communicating project status, managing milestones, and ensuring mission success.

Stay current with emerging technologies and military requirements to continuously advance the security posture of the Department of Defense.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity, particularly related to industrial control systems or Operational Technology.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Experience with test and evaluation, data analysis, and technical report writing.
