Job Title: Senior Quality Systems Specialist

Location: Oakville ON- Hybrid (3 days in office)

Compensation: $70K+ (CDN)

Key Responsibilities;

  • Work as part of the corporate Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with regulatory, quality and product safety requirements
  • Lead the Stability Program in coordination of samples to third party labs, collecting and evaluating test results and partnering with product development to implement corrective actions
  • Support the raw material and supplier approval process
  • Support quality complaint and counterfeit inquiries process including interaction with consumers
  • Support the innovation process with the review of Product Development Briefs
  • Follow up with manufacturers regarding status of investigations and corrective actions
  • Assist with the Change Control process in performing assessment on impacts to product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Support in the development, review, and updates of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Keep current with regulatory changes and make updates to the Quality Management System
  • Support Deviation system as required ensuring thorough root case analysis and timely implementation of effective CAPAs and compliance with GMP standards
  • Review and establish product testing requirements for new and existing products to comply with all standards and regulations
  • Identify potential continuous improvement opportunities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions driving efficiency without impacting quality
  • Assist with various projects and deliverables as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Natural Health Products and/or the Food Industry
  • Minimum 6 years of QA experience preferably within a consumer packaged goods environment
  • Post-secondary education in biological, chemical, nutrition or food sciences
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with quality management systems
  • Experience with ingredient approval, complaints management, specifications, change control, and shelf-life analysis
  • Experience with interpreting lab chemical and microbiological testing results
  • Experience with interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills working with cross-functional business partners
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases and other related applications
