Role overview

The Commercial Data & Reporting Lead is the single owner of commercial performance data, reporting logic, and advanced analysis across the organization. This role is responsible for building and maintaining a governed, scalable data and reporting foundation that enables trusted decision‑making across Sales, Commercial Leadership, and Executive Management.

This is a hands‑on role requiring deep expertise in Power BI data modeling, KPI governance, and advanced commercial reporting. The role ensures consistent definitions, standardized KPIs, and a single version of the truth, while translating complex data into actionable reports that shape sales strategy and execution.

What you’ll be doing

Commercial Data Models & Reporting Architecture

  • Own and manage enterprise‑level Power BI data models supporting sales and commercial reporting
  • Lead the onboarding of new data sources into governed reporting models
  • Define and maintain relationships, cardinality, and model structure
  • Design, build, and optimize new data models to support evolving business needs
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and reusability of reporting assets

Data Governance, Mapping & Hierarchy Management

  • Act as steward of commercial data governance and standards
  • Design and manage commercial data hierarchies aligning to business reporting requirements
  • Build, maintain and automate robust mapping logic across data sources to ensure normalized dimensions across all data models
  • Map data that is not present in source datasets in alignment to business logic and hierarchies
  • Resolve inconsistencies across ERP, CRM, and retailer data sources
  • Ensure consistency and auditability of all commercial datasets

KPI Definition & Standardization

  • Own end‑to‑end definition and governance of commercial KPIs
  • Develop new measures and calculations aligned to business strategy
  • Standardize KPI structures and definitions across all reporting
  • Enforce “one version of the truth” across sales and leadership reporting
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, and Leadership to align performance metrics

Advanced Analytics & Strategic Insights

  • Lead development of advanced Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Deliver management‑level reporting and executive‑ready insights
  • Support sales strategy through trend analysis, performance diagnostics, and opportunity identification
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable narratives for leadership

Recurring & Executive Reporting Ownership

  • Own and deliver key recurring commercial reporting outputs
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and on‑time delivery of all deliverables

What we’re looking for

  • Post Secondary education in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial analytics, sales reporting, or BI
  • Proven experience in a Lead role owning data, metrics, and reporting end‑to‑end
  • Advanced, hands‑on expertise in Power BI, including:
  • Data modelling
  • DAX
  • Relationship and model optimization
  • Strong understanding of sales and commercial performance metrics
  • Experience working across multiple data sources (ERP, CRM, retailer data)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous data environments and impose structure
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex analysis to senior stakeholders
  • Highly detail‑oriented with strong data governance discipline
  • Comfortable being both strategic and hands‑on
  • Strong ownership mindset — accountable for data accuracy and credibility
  • Trusted advisor to sales and commercial leadership
  • Able to balance day‑to‑day reporting with long‑term analytics strategy
