How do we work?
As our Staff Systems Administrator, you will be a part of the global Corporate IT team, where we are responsible for ensuring high availability, performance and security of critical internal systems.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical systems
- Lead design sessions, retrospectives, and driving automation initiatives
- Evaluate emerging technologies and contributing to OANDA's technology roadmap
- Mentor other systems administrators and running training sessions
- Translate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences
- Provide technical oversight on infrastructure projects
What skillset do you need to be successful in this role?
- 10+ years in systems administration (5+ in a senior/lead capacity)
- Deep knowledge of Windows & macOS, networking (TCP/IP, SSL), and virtualisation
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and hybrid environments
- Solid Google Workspace administration knowledge
- Understanding of IAM/PAM (SailPoint) concepts and practices
- Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST) and disaster recovery planning
- A passion for AI and its potential to transform IT operations
- Excellent communication skills — you can make the complex feel simple
- Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience (Master's a plus)
Nice to have:
- Linux experience and Azure knowledge
- Scripting & automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible)
- VDI experience (Workspot)
- Industry certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Professional Workspace Administrator.
