Role Description The Senior Fund Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in the Redwood City, This role is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for investment funds, including preparing and reviewing NAV calculations, investor allocations, and capital account statements. The Senior Fund Accountant will prepare and analyze financial statements, manage period-end close processes, and coordinate with external administrators, auditors, and tax advisors. The role involves maintaining accurate general ledgers for funds, reviewing partnership agreements for accounting implications, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards. The Senior Fund Accountant will collaborate closely with investment, operations, and finance teams to support decision-making, respond to investor inquiries, and drive process improvements and automation within the fund accounting function.

Qualifications

  • Strong fund accounting expertise, including Fund Accounting and NAV calculation experience.
  • Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting for investment funds.
  • Solid foundation in Finance, with the ability to interpret transaction structures and their accounting impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
  • Several years of experience in fund accounting (private equity, venture capital, or similar alternative investments).
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with fund accounting systems; experience with automation or BI tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area and managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
