Are you an experienced counsellor or mental health professional who enjoys building relationships and creating opportunities for others?

Torrens University is seeking a Counselling Placement Coordinator to help secure high-quality placement opportunities for counselling students across Australia.

In this role, you'll work directly with mental health organisations, schools, community services, not-for-profits and counselling practices to build partnerships that provide meaningful real-world learning experiences for students. You'll play a critical role in preparing future counselling professionals for successful careers while strengthening Torrens University's connections with industry.

This is a highly relationship-focused role that combines industry engagement, stakeholder management, student support and placement coordination. You'll work as part of a national team committed to delivering exceptional Work Integrated Learning experiences that meet academic and accreditation requirements.

Who You Are

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in counselling or a related sector
  • A minimum of Masters Level Degree in counselling or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated understanding of dual-role responsibilities, including counselling delivery and placement coordination
  • Strong knowledge of student placement processes and requirements
  • Familiarity with relevant management systems and administrative procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and has committed to continuously strive for professional development.
  • Ability to work competently and harmoniously with colleagues and students of all cultures and backgrounds.
  • Computer literacy in appropriate discipline-specific and learning technologies as per business requirements.
  • High service ethos and work commitment.
