As part of Advanced Analytics, you’ll work within a broader Data, Analytics and AI organization and collaborate closely with experts across BI, data engineering, platform experts, and AI/GenAI specialists.

As a Student Data Scientist in Advanced Analytics, you’ll join a team that works across the full analytics lifecycle - from idea exploration to developing and launching decision algorithms and ML/AI solutions used daily across the business. You'll collaborate closely with our team of data analysts, scientists and engineers, as well as product excellence and intelligence units in different business areas who combine strong technical skills with a deep understanding of business challenges.

In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of user-facing ML/AI models and products, while also supporting a wide range of advanced analytics data initiatives.

Tasks you can expect to work on, on a day-to-day basis include:

• Developing new features for advanced analytics products and maintaining existing ones
• Prototyping and iterating with different business stakeholders on custom ML/AI Databricks Applications built on frameworks such as Plotly, Dash or Streamlit
• Conducting exploratory data analyses in our Data Platform, primarily performed in Databricks
• Data wrangling and refinement, including transforming, validating, and preparing data for advanced analytics and ML/AI use cases
• Drive technical innovation by exploring new Databricks capabilities and helping refine best practices across the organization
• Overall, this role will work in close proximity to a range of data professionals that all work together to deliver impactful Data, Analytics, & AI solutions to stakeholders across Abacus Medicine

Fuel for your success in the role

You are likely in the second or third year of your bachelor’s degree studying a relevant field such as Data Science, Business Analytics, Software Development, or similar, and are interested in working with both Data & ML/AI solutions and user‑facing advanced analytics products.

We imagine that you:

• Have solid experience with Python for data analytics, data science or data visualization
• Have worked with data wrangling and data analysis (e.g. in Python or SQL)
• Are motivated to collaborate with business (non-technical stakeholders) to develop data-driven applications.
• Enjoy solving problems, learning new technologies, and developing innovative solutions
• Can collaborate with both technical colleagues and business stakeholders
• Are comfortable working independently and asking questions and seeking feedback when needed.
