About the Role

We’re looking for a Technology Support Engineer to support and operate cloud‑based industrial data platforms used by energy and process‑industry clients. This role focuses on deploying, supporting, and continuously improving data solutions that connect operational technology (OT) with modern cloud environments.

Based in Calgary, you’ll work closely with internal engineering teams and external clients across oil & gas, refining, and petrochemical operations, helping ensure data platforms are reliable, secure, and aligned with operational and business needs.

🔧 What You’ll Do

  • Implement and support cloud-based industrial data platform solutions, including monitoring, performance tuning, and ongoing operations
  • Provide technical support, including root cause analysis and customer communication. Work with cross‑functional teams on solution design, system builds, testing, and release activities
  • Support the integration of relational and time-series data platforms to enable reliable, scalable data services. Implement and monitor IT and data security controls, escalating risks as needed
  • Document system configurations, operational procedures, and customer-facing technical materials
  • Assist in defining “as‑is” and “to‑be” architectures as part of solution evolution and change initiatives
  • Occasionally support customer training and knowledge transfer sessions

⭐ What You Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting IT or cloud‑based solutions in a customer or service environment
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies and data engineering concepts
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols (OPC UA/DA, MQTT, Modbus, COM/DCOM)
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience with time‑series data and industrial data historians (e.g., AVEVA/OSIsoft PI)
  • Scripting or programming experience (Python, PowerShell)
  • Exposure to oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical operations
  • Experience working in virtual or global delivery teams
