We are seeking a Clinical IT Support Engineer with a strong background in healthcare IT, networking, and medical device support. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting ophthalmic diagnostic equipment such as Zeiss, Topcon, or Optos, along with a solid understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, and VLANs. This role will lead onsite IT initiatives, network cutovers, device integrations, and technical support efforts across a national footprint, requiring extensive travel and the ability to work independently in fast-paced clinical environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead high-visibility field projects, including site surveys, Fortinet network cutovers, and Nextiva phone system installations across a national footprint.
  • Act as the technical lead for integrating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment (e.g., Zeiss, Topcon, Optos) with the internal ALE platform (EHR/POS).
  • Provide on-demand, on-site technical support for hardware failures, networking issues, and premises updates at individual practice locations.
  • Deliver a "white-glove" service experience, serving as the primary IT liaison for doctors and clinical staff during acquisitions and go-lives.
  • Implement and enforce corporate IT standards across diverse, newly acquired environments, ensuring seamless data transmission and security compliance.
  • Manage extensive travel logistics to provide hands-on support, ensuring clinics are operational with minimal disruption to patient care.

Must Haves:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, medical device management, or a related field or technical roles.
  • A strong technical foundation in networking basics, including a solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or implementing ophthalmic medical devices (specifically Zeiss, Topcon, or Optos).
  • Ability and willingness to travel 90-100% of the time,including frequent flights and overnight stays.
  • A "sprinting" mindset with the ability to work autonomously in the field where no other IT presence exists.
  • Residence near a major hub airport (Dallas, Phoenix, San Diego, Denver, Nashville, Houston, San Antonio, Philadelphia, or St. Louis).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Direct experience with Fortinet FortiGate setup and cutovers is highly desirable.
  • Experience with application integration and specialized middleware used for medical imaging.
  • CompTIA Network+, Security+, or vendor-specific medical device certifications.
  • Familiarity with the setup and troubleshooting of Nextiva hosted phone systems
