Assistant, Research & Development

About us

Vestacy is a standalone company, carved out from Reckitt and now backed by Advent International. Our purpose is simple: to transform houses into homes. Through trusted brands including Air Wick, Calgon, Cillit Bang and Mortein, we help millions of households create spaces that feel clean, fresh and protected every day.

With almost 3,000 colleagues across 20+ countries, we believe culture is transformational. At Vestacy, every person is a Founder, empowered to act boldly, make decisions and help shape what’s next. We care for our company the way you care for your own home — with energy, passion and pride.

We’re building something extraordinary, and we’re looking for someone who wants to make an impact, grow their career, and be part of a team that values ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.

About the role

As an Assistant in Research & Development, you’ll work closely with the local R&D team to provide operational support across Vestacy brand activities in the ANZ market and help drive innovation projects for the Pest category. You’ll contribute to the delivery of assigned projects, support testing and evaluation activities, and help ensure our products continue to meet high standards of quality and performance.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain exposure across product development, technical support, and cross-functional collaboration. It’s a great opportunity for someone who is curious, committed, and eager to learn in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

What you’ll do

  • Support the local R&D team in delivering Vestacy brand activities across ANZ.
  • Assist with Pest category innovation projects in line with the defined category strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with Global Marketing and Regulatory teams to support a robust innovation pipeline.
  • Provide technical support for existing commercial products, including performance and stability testing, claim support, advertising support and label support.
  • Support the evaluation of first production samples for new product launches.
  • Assist with cost improvement projects and new supplier approvals through performance and stability testing.
  • Carry out day-to-day laboratory activities including formulation work, product evaluation, competitor benchmarking and testing.
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on GC, HPLC and other laboratory equipment.
  • Follow laboratory procedures, quality requirements and safety standards.
  • Assist with consumer complaints, quality issues, competitor challenges and legal enquiries relating to technical matters.

What you’ll bring

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering or a related science discipline.
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in FMCG or a similar industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Good collaboration and stakeholder partnership skills.
  • A curious mindset with a genuine desire to learn and grow.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing your responsibilities independently.

That’s why we offer numerous local benefits and global benefits designed to help you grow and thrive, such as career mobility opportunities, a referral program, access to our online learning academy, mental wellbeing support, and short-term bonus incentives.
