Vice President, Divisional Accounting | Global Manufacturer | Hybrid NYC
A leading global diversified enterprise is seeking a senior finance and accounting leader to oversee a portfolio of operating companies and investments across multiple industries. This highly visible role offers direct exposure to executive leadership, M&A activity, subsidiary oversight, board-level interaction, and strategic finance initiatives within a complex multinational environment.
The Vice President, Divisional Accounting will lead accounting, financial reporting, M&A integration, and financial controls across a diverse business portfolio while partnering closely with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial and management accounting activities across multiple operating businesses and investments.
- Review and approve significant accounting transactions and technical accounting matters.
- Lead accounting support for acquisitions, including purchase accounting, opening balance sheet reviews, valuation coordination, and post-merger integration activities.
- Direct consolidated financial close and reporting processes in partnership with corporate accounting and financial reporting teams.
- Serve as a board representative for select subsidiaries and portfolio companies, providing financial oversight and governance support.
- Monitor financial performance, operational metrics, and risk indicators across affiliated entities.
- Evaluate internal control environments and recommend process improvements where appropriate.
- Research and assess the impact of new accounting standards and regulatory developments.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, business transformation projects, and organizational growth efforts.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and finance team.
Qualifications
- CPA required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.10+ years of progressive accounting, finance, controllership, or advisory experience.
- Strong background in M&A accounting, purchase accounting, post-merger integration, financial reporting, and financial controls.
- Experience within a multinational corporation, diversified holding company, accounting advisory firm, or consulting environment preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel domestically as needed.
