Sigortam.net is currently seeking a Data Engineer to join its Data Squad. In this role, you will work on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, data platforms, and core data infrastructure that power our analytics, data science, and AI products. This position requires a strong blend of software engineering skills and data engineering expertise, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
The Data Squad at Sigortam.net is responsible for shaping and executing the company’s data, analytics, and AI strategy. Our mission is to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization with a strong product and customer focus, while increasing data and AI maturity and building scalable, reliable data products.
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team and play a key role in building and evolving our data platform and data products.
Your role:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines (batch and streaming) that support analytics, BI, and data science & AI use cases.
- Optimize data storage and query performance across data warehouses and analytical databases.
- Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Product teams to understand data requirements and translate them into robust data solutions.
- Ensure data reliability, observability, and quality across the data platform by implementing monitoring, alerting, and validation mechanisms.
- Contribute to platform-level engineering practices, including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics) or a related discipline; an advanced degree is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, working on production-grade data pipelines and data systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL is essential, with experience writing production-quality, maintainable code, not just analytical scripts.
- Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes, and how they are used to support analytics and data products.
- Ability to design performance and scalable tables and queries based on business and reporting needs.
- Experience with event streaming or messaging systems such as Apache Kafka (experience with RabbitMQ is a plus).
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance and scalable APIs (preferably using FastAPI) to serve data products, analytics, and machine learning outputs to internal and external consumers.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and modern development and deployment workflows.
- Practical experience working with Redis and/or Elasticsearch in data pipeline, caching, or search scenarios.
- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, cronicle, or similar.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring/logging practices in production environments.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals, including clean code practices, code reviews, refactoring, and writing maintainable systems.
- Experience with testing practices (unit and integration tests) and building reliable, production-grade systems.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in production environments, with the ability to diagnose and resolve data and system issues.
- Ability to write clean, modular, and well-documented code, and to work effectively with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with analytics, data science, and product teams.
- Familiarity with Git and experience working in agile environments.
