Executive Director – Punj Lloyd Institute of Infrastructure Management
Location: Indian School of Business (ISB), Mohali
The Punj Lloyd Institute of Infrastructure Management (PLIIM) at ISB is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead its mission of building management capacity for the infrastructure and real estate sectors. Anchored within ISB’s strategy of advancing management practice and shaping policies related to business, PLIIM has established strong foundations through its flagship Advanced Management Programme for Infrastructure (AMPI), applied research, and industry outreach. The next phase of growth will expand into sustainable infrastructure, digital transformation, and smart systems — ensuring that managers and businesses are equipped to lead in a rapidly evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Research
- Build research infrastructure and foster collaborations with ISB faculty, global scholars, and industry experts.
- Drive applied business research in infrastructure, real estate, sustainability, smart cities, and digital transformation.
- Produce insights that inform both business strategy and policies related to business, reinforcing ISB’s role as a thought leader.
Outreach
- Lead flagship events and broaden PLIIM’s portfolio into emerging trends such as sustainability and smart infrastructure.
- Support fundraising by working with ISB’s Advancement Office.
- Enhance visibility through thought-leadership publications and global networks that connect directly to business and management practice.
- Strengthen partnerships with government, industry, civil society, and academia.
Pedagogy
- Oversee AMPI and develop new executive education programs tailored to managers and business leaders in infrastructure.
- Integrate emerging themes into ISB’s curriculum, ensuring alignment with the school’s broader educational strategy.
- Mentor students and support Career Advancement Services (CAS) in industry projects and placements.
Institute Leadership & Administration
- Define and refine PLIIM’s mission, vision, and strategy in collaboration with ISB leadership.
- Build and lead a high-quality team of faculty, researchers, and staff.
- Manage budgeting, financial planning, and work toward long-term sustainability.
- Engage actively with the Advisory Council, industry partners, and program sponsors.
Qualifications
- Experience in academia with deep expertise in infrastructure management, real estate, or operations/supply chain is a requirement.
- Advanced degree (PhD/MBA/Engineering with specialization in infrastructure, public policy, real estate, public finance) preferred.
- Leadership experience in industry or policy will be valued.
- Proven track record in research, program development, fundraising, and partnership building.
- Strong communication and networking skills to represent PLIIM at national and international forums.
- Commitment to advancing India’s role in sustainable and globally competitive infrastructure.
