We are looking a Data Engineering Group Manager to provide strategic, technical, and organizational leadership across our end-to-end data engineering landscape.
This role is responsible for shaping the long-term data engineering vision, scaling teams and platforms, and ensuring that enterprise and cloud-native data systems reliably deliver business value. The Group Manager owns the evolution of enterprise data platforms as well as modern, cloud-native data architectures, with accountability for architecture, delivery execution, operational maturity, and people leadership.
The position requires deep experience with traditional data warehousing and reporting environments, combined with strong leadership in modern data engineering domains such as real-time and event-driven pipelines, large-scale batch processing, and containerized data platforms.
💼 What you’ll do?
- Lead, scale, and mentor data engineering team
- Define and execute the data engineering strategy, roadmap, and operating model
- Own architectural direction across batch, streaming, analytics, and data services
- Ensure data platforms meet reliability, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency expectations
- Establish engineering standards, delivery practices, and operational excellence (SLAs, on-call, observability)
- Drive data quality, governance, lineage, and platform adoption across the organization
- Partner with senior stakeholders across technology, analytics, and business leadership to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
- Management Enterprise data warehousing and reporting platforms
- Developing Large-scale batch analytics and scheduled data processing
- Create Real-time and event-driven data architectures
- Management Cloud-native data platforms and data integration / data transfer applications
- Supporting Data services analytics, AI/ML, and product development
✅ Who you are?
- You have 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or large-scale data systems, with at least 3–5 years in a people management or group leadership role
- You have led multiple data engineering teams and are experienced in hiring, mentoring, performance management, and growing senior-level engineers
- You possess strong architectural understanding of enterprise data warehousing, modern cloud-native data platforms, and hybrid data architectures
- You have hands-on exposure to cloud data ecosystems (preferably GCP) and can effectively challenge, guide, and review architectural and design decisions made by senior engineers
- You are experienced in data integration and orchestration at scale, including batch, streaming, and event-driven architectures
- You understand data governance, quality, lineage, and operational data management, and know how to embed these into engineering practices
- You have led teams operating production-grade data platforms, including reliability, monitoring, incident management, and cost optimization
- You are comfortable working with containerized platforms and CI/CD-driven delivery models, even if you are no longer an individual contributor
- You have partnered closely with analytics, ML, and business teams, translating business needs into scalable and sustainable data solutions
- You are a clear communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and align data engineering priorities with business outcomes
