Join Investec's end user support team and help deliver stable, secure, and seamless technology experiences to colleagues. The Junior Desktop Support Engineer plays a critical role in delivering a premium, high-touch digital workplace experience to Investec colleagues.

This role combines white-glove support excellence with engineering-led automation, proactive endpoint management, and continuous improvement of Investec's Modern Workplace environment.

Operating within a financial services environment, the role supports a performance-driven user base requiring stability, responsiveness, security, and seamless technology experiences.

What you'll be doing

  • Deliver professional on-site and remote IT support to Investec colleagues; resolve day-to-day technical issues with a friendly, customer-first approach
  • Manage incidents and service requests via the ITSM platform, working to SLAs and escalating when needed
  • Support Windows 11 and macOS devices, hardware provisioning, and lifecycle management including repairs and returns
  • Assist with meeting room AV/VC systems, printing, connectivity, and desk moves
  • Contribute to Modern Workplace initiatives (Intune/Endpoint Manager, Azure AD Entra ID) and remote support tooling
  • Maintain accurate documentation, participate in continuous improvement, and help onboard new starters

What we're looking for

  • Interest in building a career in IT end user support, and ideally some experience in a corporate role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft 365; excellent customer service and communication
  • Experience with ITSM platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work well in a team
  • Customer-focused and communicative with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, reliable, and collaborative
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the organisation

Nice-to-have (desirable)

  • Experience in financial services or corporate environments
  • Exposure to Microsoft Intune/endpoint management; basic networking knowledge
  • ITIL Foundation or willingness to pursue; MS fundamentals (MS-900/AZ-900)
