Technical Sourcing & Supply Chain Lead (Mission Critical & Power Systems)

What You’ll Do:
Relate Search has partnered with a global power generation and industrial energy solutions organization in their search for a Technical Sourcing & Supply Chain Lead to help establish and scale a supply chain function in a high-growth, startup-mode environment. This is a foundational hire reporting directly to the COO, responsible for building sourcing strategy, supplier networks, and procurement execution across engines and genset components.
In this hands-on role, you will act as a commercial and technical bridge between global manufacturing operations in India and U.S.-based assembly and supplier partners. You will shape how the Americas business sources, negotiates, plans, and delivers mission-critical power systems for hyperscale data center and industrial customers. This is a rare opportunity to build a supply chain function from the ground up while directly influencing speed, cost, and quality in a rapidly scaling business.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and execute end-to-end sourcing strategy for engines, genset components, and related industrial equipment in a low-volume, high-margin environment.
- Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers while negotiating commercial agreements, pricing structures, and SLAs to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Build and manage procurement execution processes including purchase orders, ERP transactions, inventory planning, and supply tracking across global suppliers.
- Partner with India-based engineering and manufacturing teams and U.S. operations to align BOMs, resolve technical issues, and support production readiness.
- Oversee supply chain operations across sourcing, planning, and logistics while introducing process improvements and AI-enabled efficiencies to scale the function.
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within industrial, automotive, aerospace, HVAC, defense, or related technical industries.
- Strong background in low-volume, high-margin manufacturing or contract environments with demonstrated experience in creative supplier negotiations.
- Technical aptitude with a degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent hands-on technical experience).
- Experience working with ERP systems and managing procurement, inventory, or supply chain execution processes.
- Proven ability to operate independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while managing global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
