Overview of the Role: Civil Marine Project Manager is responsible for coordinating complex marine and civil projects such as port developments, coastal protection structures, and marine facilities. They act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and internal teams, ensuring that projects meet both technical and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead project kick-off activities including mobilization planning, resource allocation, and establishing project baselines (scope, cost, schedule, quality)
- Develop comprehensive Project Execution Plans, Method Statements, and Construction Methodology for marine civil works
- Establish project governance frameworks, communication protocols, and reporting hierarchies.
- Monitor daily construction progress against programme; implement corrective actions to address delays or deviations promptly.
- Manage main contractor, subcontractor, and supplier relationships ensuring contractual obligations are met by all parties.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage Variations and Change Orders; negotiate with clients and contractors to protect project commercial position.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, consultant, and all key project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present comprehensive monthly progress reports including schedule status, financial performance, risk register, and lookahead programme.
- Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships that support business development and opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary project team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Marine Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or PMP certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 12–15 years in marine civil construction roles, including project management experience in civil marine construction, dredging and coastal works (Quay wall, Breakwater, Revetment etc...)
- GCC / Middle East regional project experience preferred.
- Experience in Planning, execution, budget and risk management.
