Business Analyst

At Mons Royale, we believe action and adventure sports can be a force for good but most of the gear made for these sports is trashing the planet. That's why we're on a mission to shift riders from synthetics to natural fibres designing high-performance merino apparel that doesn't mess up the places we love to play.

We're looking for a Business Analyst to help us get more out of our data, reporting and systems as we scale. This is a hands-on role based in Wanaka for someone who enjoys working with data, improving how systems operate, and helping teams use information more effectively.

This role sits at the intersection of data, systems and people. You'll help ensure our data is structured well, flows cleanly between systems, and lands in reporting that people actually use. That means working across tools like Azure, Power BI, Excel, NetSuite, Backbone, Shopify, and our core data sets, while supporting upcoming system and process improvements as we evolve our tech stack.

It's hands-on, practical work that directly improves how the business runs.

What you'll do:

• Build and improve Power BI reporting
• Support how data flows across systems (Backbone, NetSuite, Shopify, Azure and reporting tools)
• Maintain and improve core data structures (e.g. SKU data, pricing, sales intelligence)
• Identify issues, inefficiencies and breaks in process and help resolve them
• Support teams to use systems and data effectively in their day-to-day work
• Assist with systems projects and implementations, including future upgrades and new platform rollouts
• Support process mapping, data setup, testing and rollout when systems change

Requirements

What we're looking for

You might already be in an analyst or reporting role, or ready to step into one.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Genuinely connected to what we stand for at Mons, and motivated to push for change in an industry dominated by plastics
• Confident with data — understands how data is structured, how to interrogate it, and how to sense-check what looks right vs wrong
• Comfortable working across datasets and systems, connecting the dots end-to-end and proactively finding (and fixing) friction in how data flows through the business
• Experienced with Power BI or similar reporting tools
• Curious about how the business actually works, not just the numbers
• Interested in AI and how new tools can improve how we use data
• Able to work across technical and non-technical teams
• Experience with ERP, PLM, inventory or retail systems is a bonus, not essential
