Student Assistant - International Development

You will join the International Development Unit department of Ecorys Nederland B.V. in Rotterdam. IDU leads on Ecorys’ work in developing countries with specialist international teams in the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Bulgaria, Zambia, Ghana and India, allowing you to work in a truly international environment. Our projects cover an array of subjects and clients worldwide.

The IDU focusses on acquisition and implementation of international projects, covering most of the sectors Ecorys work in, including:

• Climate, energy and environment
• Social policy
• Regions and cities
• Resilient economies
• Transport, infrastructure and mobility
• Public finance and governance
• Security and justice
• Sustainable agriculture and food systems

Key Responsibilities:

You will use your skills to support the IDU consultants in the wide variety of their work including:

• Business development activities such as supporting the team in the acquisition of new projects,
• Conducting quantitative or qualitative analysis in our research projects,
• Preparing literature reviews on a wide variety of topics,
• Maintenance of our CV database,
• Organising client meetings or project events.

What you will bring:

The ideal candidate will be either a 2nd or 3rd year student in a Dutch university who is an enthusiastic team player and a quick learner

You will also need

• Experience and knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Strong administration and organisation skills
• Strong Excel skills.
• A proactive attitude and to be analytically strong.
• The ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
• Excellent command of the English language. French is an asset.
• A genuine interest in societal challenges
• You will need to be available 2-3 days per week for a longer period of time i.e. a minimum of 6 months.
• You will need to be registered as a student at a Dutch university.
