About the team

MA Financial is one of Australia’s leading private credit managers, with over $7 billion in credit assets under management.

Our Global Credit Solutions team actively manages a diverse range of private credit strategies focused on asset-based finance, specialty credit, corporate lending and high yield.

The team comprises of more than 45 professionals across Australia, Singapore and the United States, forming part of a broader institutional-grade asset management platform of over 180 people globally.

About the role

You will join our Global Credit Solutions team for an 8-10 week program where you will play an active role in the execution of a diverse range of transactions, working closely with senior team members.

We provide extensive on-the-job training, offering exposure to live deals and the opportunity to establish and grow your professional network with colleagues from across the business.

You will be mentored by some of the very best and brightest experienced professionals, gaining valuable industry insight and technical skills in a high-performing environment. Given the lean team structure, you will be provided with a high degree of exposure, equipping you with a strong foundation for a career in asset management and investing.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Evaluation of potential investment opportunities
• Assisting with preparation of investment papers and presentations including company and market research, financial analysis and modelling
• Contributing to research and market analysis in support of strategic initiatives
• Participating in investment, portfolio and broader team meetings, and supporting with ad hoc requests as required

About you

• You are a university student in your penultimate year of study (we will also consider applications from final year students) with strong academic results
• Your studies have a finance / business / commerce /economics / law / engineering / science / mathematics focus
• You have excellent analytical and numerical skills
• You have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• You are a team player with a strong work ethic
• You are innovative, entrepreneurial and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• You have your own unique interests, perspectives and experience which adds diversity of thought and ideas to our team
• You have a genuine interest in credit investing
